Six campsites in Devon & Cornwall to stay in your caravan or motorhome
Published:
Exploring Devon and Cornwall in a motorhome or campervan offers a diverse range of landscapes, from coastal views to national parks and historic towns. Both counties provide various campsites catering to different preferences, whether you're seeking a tranquil natural setting, a beachfront location, or a family-oriented site.
Here are six campsites to consider:
Andrewshayes Holiday Park (Devon)
Located in the Devon countryside, Andrewshayes Holiday Park offers facilities including a heated indoor swimming pool, bar, games room and dog walking area. The site serves as a base for exploring East Devon and West Dorset, with access to beaches, attractions, and nature reserves.
Touring pitches are available from late March to late October, with amenities such as electric hook-up, awning space, and access to modern showers and the swimming pool included.
Lanyon Holiday Park (Cornwall)
Situated in the heart of the open Cornish mining countryside, Lanyon Holiday Park provides well-maintained pitches suitable for various sizes of caravans, motorhomes and tents. The dog-friendly park covers 14 acres, offering spacious grass pitches and access to fresh water taps.
Nearby attractions include the harbour town of Porthleven and beaches like Portreath, which is approximately six miles away and offers activities such as bodyboarding, snorkelling, surfing, and paddleboarding.
Barhams Woodland Camping (Devon)
If you’re after a wild-style camping experience then Barhams Woodland Camping is a fantastic destination, set under the shade of ancient oak trees nestled on a 16-acre Devon woodland site.
They have 13 privately landscaped pitches for both tents and campervans, each with an individual fire pit for toasting marshmallows.
You’re re a short 20 min walk to Denbury (small village with a pub), a 10 minute drive to Dartmoor National Park, and a 25 minute drive to Paignton and the Devon coastline with many picturesque seaside locations to explore.
Tip: Give your fuel stops some extra thought, if possible fill up in the bigger towns as some of the more remote areas have fewer petrol stations.

"Devon and Cornwall are very popular destinations for campers, especially during the summer and school holidays. Parks and sites in the popular coastal spots can book up months in advance so if you’re planning a trip in peak season, it’s smart to book ahead."

The site is just 20 minutes from Broadsands Beach (access via private cliff steps) which offers family-friendly beach activities with sandy shores, kayaking and paddleboarding. You are also within a five minute drive of Ilfracombe and Combe Martin, making this is the perfect seaside escape.
