Swift supports Harry Chandler and his Tour Du Mans charity fundraiser

Published:

Swift are proudly supporting Harry Chandler as he aims to cycle from Bentley Motors in Crewe, all the way to Le Mans, the birthplace of endurance racing, over 1000km’s away in 7 days, starting 6th June.

2024 is the 100-year anniversary of Bentley Winning Le Mans for the first time, this also coincides with Harry attending the Race for the 15th time. So, Harry felt like it was a great opportunity to do something challenging, whilst raising money for a worthwhile cause.

Harry Chandler commented:

“The Charity I will be raising money for is Cardiac Risk In the Young (CRY). In 2012, my brother lost one of his good friends, who he played Rugby alongside at Club and Regional Level. ‘Butch’ as he was more commonly known died from an unidentified heart defect. Fast forward to 2021, and I sadly lost a friend from university with a similar unidentified heart defect. Every week in the UK at Least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.”

Harry would like to use the money raised to fund screening days to give young people like himself the opportunity to get checked and have the peace of mind that their heart health is in good condition.

Harry Chandler continued to say:

“Many of these deaths could have been avoided – a CRY screening day would likely have detected any issues and led to these guys being referred to specialist Cardiologists with further actions taken to ensure they were still with us today. Unfortunately these screening days are not always widely available, In 2023, I had nearly 30 friends register interest for a screening day, and only 1 was successful.”

Swift will be providing a Monza campervan, which Harry’s dad Steve will be driving as a support vehicle. We wish Harry the best of luck on his epic ride.
