Introducing Swift's first all-electric caravan, the Basecamp EVO

Basecamp EVO is an all-electric prototype concept vehicle, showcasing a myriad of environmentally-friendly features. From its rainwater toilet flush system to a lighter GRP bodyshell, we’ve been exploring options for both greener production and greener towing.
Basecamp EVO was unveiled at the recent Motorhome and Caravan Show, at the NEC Birmingham. It generated a lot of interest from the media and visitors with people intrigued with the various sustainable elements.
With plans to reach Net Zero, the Basecamp EVO project is the starting project to achieving this important goal. Unveiling this prototype concept vehicle at the show gave us the opportunity to speak to visitors and understand their appetite for an all-electric van as well as understand their interest in the other sustainable elements.
Our Sustainability Manager, Tom Buckley, began the Basecamp EVO project at the start of the year, researching a host of opportunities, while being mindful that all options needed to be sustainable and most importantly, still perform to a high standard.
Tom said: “The mission with the Basecamp EVO was to create a bold all-electric caravan with sustainability engrained within the design. As someone that lives and breathes sustainability, it has been a real passion project for me and it was amazing to see such a hive of activity around it at the NEC show! This vehicle is just the starting point for Swift on our journey to net zero and extending our offering to a range of more sustainable, environmentally friendly leisure vehicles.”
The Basecamp EVO is a prototype concept vehicle and there are currently no plans to put this into production at this moment in time.
